About the Opportunity

A growing senior living operator is seeking an Administrator to lead all aspects of daily operations at one of its assisted living communities in Oregon.

The Administrator is accountable for resident care and safety, regulatory compliance, financial performance, occupancy, and team culture. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, resident-centered leader who balances operational discipline with warmth and strong relationships with residents, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Operations and Leadership

• Direct day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality, person-centered care and services

• Recruit, hire, train, coach, and retain a strong team across care, dining, housekeeping, maintenance, and activities

• Build a positive, accountable culture with low turnover and high engagement

• Serve as the on-site leader and be available for escalations, including on-call coverage as needed

Regulatory Compliance

• Maintain full compliance with Oregon Administrative Rules, Chapter 411, Division 54, and all Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) licensing requirements

• Prepare for and lead the community through licensing surveys, complaint investigations, and plans of correction

• Ensure accurate move-in evaluations, resident service plans, disclosure documents, and documentation

• Oversee medication management, nursing oversight and delegation, incident and abuse reporting, and health and safety protocols

• Ensure staffing levels, required training, and background checks meet state standards

• Uphold resident rights and follow involuntary move-out criteria and notice requirements

Resident and Family Experience

• Partner with residents and families to ensure a positive move-in experience and ongoing satisfaction

• Oversee resident evaluations, service plans, and appropriateness of placement as needs change

• Address concerns promptly and professionally, and maintain a strong resident-rights culture

Financial and Sales Performance

• Manage the annual budget, labor costs, and operating expenses to meet financial targets

• Drive occupancy through community marketing, referral relationships, and tour and move-in follow-through

• Monitor key metrics including occupancy, census, staffing ratios, revenue, and expenses

• Cultivate referral sources such as hospitals, discharge planners, physicians, and senior placement advisors

Facility and Safety

• Ensure the building, grounds, and equipment are safe, clean, and well maintained

• Maintain fire and life safety compliance, emergency preparedness, and disaster plans

Required Qualifications

• Current Oregon Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) license in good standing, issued by the Oregon Health Authority Health Licensing Office

• Minimum 1 year of progressive leadership experience in assisted living, memory care, or senior living

• Working knowledge of OAR 411-054 and the ODHS survey and enforcement process

• Demonstrated experience managing budgets, staffing, and occupancy

• Ability to pass an Oregon criminal background check and any other required credentialing or health screening

• Ability to be scheduled on-site at least 40 hours per week

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency with standard office software and resident/care documentation systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, gerontology, or a related field

• Experience with memory care and dementia programming, including Oregon's Memory Care Community endorsement requirements

• Experience with Medicaid-funded (APD) residents and case management partners

• Track record of improving occupancy and survey outcomes

• Experience leading a community through licensing complaints or a plan of correction

• Bilingual skills (Spanish or another regional language)
